F-150 Engine swap

I currently have a 92 f150 and want to know what all the engine options are that i can swap into it. it has the 4.9L V6 right now. Any suggestions asides from buy a new truck.

You have a loaded question there that can draw thousands of replies. Please tell us what your end goal is, how much you want to spend, can you do the work yourself, etc.

Hopefully that was just a brain fart on your part and you are well aware that it's actually a straight 6... otherwise you may be biting off a little more than you can chew.

In any event.. bolt in options include the 5.0 and 5.8 V8s and there is a list of stuff that has to be changed along with the engine but it'll be pretty close to plug and play with the right donor vehicle.

i can do the work myself and the title info said V6 but it didn't look right to me it looks like the straight six. the engine bay seemed like it might be snug with a V8 but this guy does also had the wrong radiator installed.

Maybe it was a V8 truck to begin with.. have you run the VIN to see?

Its the I6 so i should be able to do a 5.0 V8 will i need a new trans. or will it support it

All 3 motors use the same trans bolt pattern you just need a specific weight flywheel or flexplate for each combo.
