Transfer Case Lowering Kit

Has anyone lowered there transfer case to make up for a lift kit. I recently replaced my rear axle and lifted the rear to about 10". This leaves me in need of a new shorter rear driveshaft (the new 10.25" Sterling is longer) and also leaves me close to a 22 degree angle at the T-case tail shaft.

I guess my real question is whether any of you know of an inexpensive T-case lowering kit before I start fabbing my own, and also any problems I may encounter. My Bronco is a '96 XLT with the 351 and E40D.
Thanks,

Sounds more like you need a set of sprockets and a bike chain!

I have heard of a kit that will turn the t-case so the front driveshaft output is lower, but haven't heard of dropping the entire thing.

I actually want to drop the rear shaft by lowering the T-case crossmember (not dropping the entire case). This will drop the engine-transmission-T-case assembly at the rear only, lessening the rear driveshaft angle.
Steve, if you find a chain and sprocket kit strong enough to handle 37" Boggers w/ 4.88s, let me know...it would be cheaper than a new driveshaft

Tilting the drivetrain may have several adverse effects, not the worst of which will be that the exhaust has to be cut & rewelded at the new angle. You may also find that oiling becomes a problem and rear seals (eng, trans, t-case) may go out a lot faster. Your fan may hit the shroud and your shifters may hit the body, or their boots may pull the levers out of gear. These are just possibilities for your consideration.

Maybe these guys can build you a chain...

That was posted in the general conversation forum a week or two ago. Yes they are for a ship. The 14 cyl version was like 89 feet long and put out over 5 million pounds of torque.

i was looking pretty close at the 1450hp detroits we put in one of the boat **well if i pull out the fender wells it would still crush my truck**

as for chain it cant be any worse than the chain in your transf case get a early np205 all gears

frankly i like bullet proof or resistant anyway not""just a mater of when it breaks"

So the question remains, what can I do? Can a driveshaft safely handle a 22 degree angle at the T-case and approximately a 15 degree angle at the axle yoke?
I know someone has a Bronco this tall...

hey drop the truck and split the lift 50/50 body and susp

or run a short shaft(with cv joints(i like the tri-arcs)not ujoints) between the tranny and your new transfer case mid-truck with
the thing enginered in the center of the susp arc

the best is the first still plenty of travel and no radical geometry

look at the monster(real not a plastic shell on tubular chassie
i have seen 6 - 12 inch i beams used as a body lift
also VERY HD drive lines think 2 1/2 ton and make 'er fit

any way i am gonna do mine right the first time like any where from 2/2 to 6/6 not sure yet prob 3/4
