I'd like to hear some views on the best style exhaust system for a 302 in a truck. Single or dual, long tube or shorties, ect.
Just pleasure driving, maybe light off road and light towing.
I personally like duals. I think they sound better, whether you have straight pipes, glass packs or mufflers, just sounds better. As for the other stuff, that gets into performance which I know nothing about which would include x pipes.

For maximum efficiency on a lil 302, 14- or 16-gauge long tube headers with 3/8-inch thick flanges through 2.25- or 2.5-inch mandrel bent tubing and free-flowing mufflers of your choice. H-pipe optional for that extra lil HP and TQ.
Generally, some guys, including me, will opt for shorties where clearances are tight (like when long tubes "cage" the starter) or when long tubes aren't worth the effort and headaches to install given the planned use of the vehicle.
Btw, a 302 in a 4WD or a 302 for towing? I had a 76 302 LB and it was a dog that couldn't get out of its own way while towing a rolling shell of a 65 Mustang. I felt like moving chicane on the highway.
Thanks for the replies, aren't glass packs super loud? I do plan on a new intake n carb soon and maybe new heads or a port n polish down the road, so there will be a lil more power.XD
Glass packs sound like turd after a year. If you want loud, dual Flowmaster 40s. My buddy's 302 with BBK shorties running 2.5" pipes with dual H pipes to a set of 40s sounded so beautiful... especially since it was in a BMW!
