Hey guys, how can you tell what PCM code is on a reman? Also is there a 'standard' code for an '03? I was wanting to let a friend try my f5 but not sure if it will work right in his truck. Mine is a pmt3.
That's where I was going to suggest looking. Pull the PCM and see if that black snap-in cover is still on there. If so, the code should be on there.
He didn't send pic of that part. I guess the thing to do is call dp and ask them if my chip is compatible with his PCM. Maybe it's all a moot point because my chip is programmed with my bts vb in mind, so it would take a re-burn anyway.
I have a 2000 F-250 7.3 and just as of yesterday I started blowing the #24 PCM Fuse under the hood. I replaced it and throughout the day ended up blowing a total of 4 fuses. It wasn't until the 5th fuse I installed that I realized that every time It blew, I was at low idle and making a right turn. I have looked for bare wires and so far have found nothing. While on my way home last night I also realized that my cruise control is no longer working. Could this all be related and why is it only when I am turning right that I am blowing fuses? Thank you

For cruise control, check the connector at the end of te hydroboost. It could be disconnect like the pic below.
I am not seeing that connector on my truck ad my brake reservoir doesn't look like that. I just found the red vacuum line that comes off the turbo unhooked. I am not sure if I did that yesterday or if it came undone on its on. It plugs in above the heater bowl connector. Could that of been a reason for my problems?

Sorry, I doubt that the red line being disconnected would cause that problem.
Did you try disconnecting the fuel bowl heater as suggested above?
The Fuse Circuit #24 is an independent circuit for the PCM alone. It controls no other accessories.
What your experiencing is a short to ground on the supply side of the circuit (if it were on the other side you would have lost your PCM by now, possibly).
I would begin tracing the (+) PCM Wire and working backwards to the ignition switch where it gets its power for the relay.
Somewhere you'll find some wiring issue. Check spices and bundle intersections. Possibly the column itself, its pretty tight in there!
On the bright side, you could run a 12 VDC+ to the PCM fused and REMOVE the other circuit if you can't locate the issue readily. You should do this via a relay directly from the Battery (+) with the Relay activated by the Ignition Switch. While it will work, it is not intended to replace the damaged circuit.
