front driveshaft movement?
Curious about how much room the front shaft should be able to move on it's splines? I noticed mine, at rest, is pretty compressed. I paid attention to this because I am replacing the shaft, because the cv ball and socket is completely wasted. I have been getting a grumbly/vibration only in 4x4 lately, I know why now. I replaced the trans one year ago, and don't remember any problems at the time except a little tightness, but nothing to indicate this happening.
Does anybody know for sure how these things are measured? NAPA came up with 38 1/2, so I will see this morning how that looks compared to mine.
By the way, this is a $350+ oops, so maintenance is a good idea.
