Dealing with Squealing?
For the longest time, my 94 4.9L has been chirping, squealing, whatever and whatever I seem to do doesn't help. We'll yesterday I decided to pull out my A/C pulley and hoses and buy a shorter belt to bypass the whole pulley. ZERO squealing now. My A/C didn't work anyways so I figured I'd give it a shot. My pulley could have been out of alignment, the bearings could have been shot..who knows but I don't care cause its gone! So if anyones struggling to get rid of their squealing, that may be a possible solution (if you dont mind giving up A/C of course)

Any one of the accessories can cause belt noise. Misalignment, a wobbling pulley, worn tensioner, binding idler, failing compressor or alternator, coolant/oil contamination....there's a lot to it. Glad you figured out your problem!

I believe the same belt would work on 4.9 300ci engines with or without Ac the belt was just installed a different way .Usually it was shown both ways on a diagram on radiator support.

Yeh I put it on the way it said to, but there was just way to much play in the belt, I could slip it off without touching the tensioner, so I ended up just getting a belt about and inch shorter and its worked perfectly.
