C6 Tail pieces

So, I got a used c6 delivered today and the tail is shorter. Now I'm trying to decide whether to have them changed or what. Everything looks the same on them except the used one has a deeper pan, and my old one has a number 61 on top of housing and the used one has a 23? Anyone have any suggestions? I called one repair shop and they said around $200 to swap them. it would cost half that just to return this one and pick up another.

200 bucks to change a tail housing sounds pretty pricey . For 100 bucks I guess I'd return the one you got get the right length one. Is this a new rebuilt one with a warranty?

I'm guessing the $200 is for disassembling the trans to swap out the output shaft, it will most likely be a different length to match the tail housing.

Just the tail housing alone is a 10 15 minute job, if I remember it is like maybe 6 bolts..

You have to change shafts I believe. It is a used tranny with 90day warranty. I think it may be from a 4x4 instead of 2 wheel. The yard was closed by the time I saw it
