HELP! 1996 Ford F-450 Superduty Body lights cross feeding with reverse lights
problem currently with my 1996 Ford F-450 Superduty, the difference is my running lights and my marker lights are cross feeding - put in reverse, the markers come on too, but not very bright, where as if I turn on the markers, the reverse lights come on also, but again not as bright as they would be normally... Anyone see some thing like this??? I've been 95% over the rear of the truck and still not finding it... Hell I still cant find the OEM plugs to check, that's why I say I have only checked 95%...

A friend of mine, and I have chased the grounds already, come to the conclusion that some how the marker lights and the reverse lights wires have crossed, or where Inadvertently crossed by last owner not taking the time to trace the problem, what ever it was...
BTW, we had already pulled a ton of old wire and dead ends out from the head ach rack, and some wires where also removed from the tail board - resulting in a brighter light shine, but still shorted some where to be found...

My thinking is, if the reverse and marker wires have been crossed, both would be bright when either circut are energised. From your first post you are getting a dim light on one circut when the other is energised. This is telling me the brighter circut is using the dim circut for grounding. Some times these problems can be a beach to figure out.

farmert... It's 5 O'clock some where... Now to figure out just where this is messed up, and get it fixed...
BTW today we found the electrical junction box pop rabbited to the drivers side frame rail right under the drivers seat, opened it up and only 4 of the 12 poles are being used, tried a light tester and could not get it to light, then the batteries went dead... THEN I had to go to work, and that's as far as we had gotten today....
I have to work tomorrow till 18:30, then I will recharge the batteries, and try again to use the light tester in the junction box, almost think there should be 1 or 2 more box's that controls the hydraulics, and lighting system on the body...
However when I called the mfg, they said the boxes "SHOULD" be inside the sub-floor of the tool box on the passenger side with the hydraulic solenoids, there no such luck, because it is PRE-2000 and they didn't have a "fixed" location back then for the electric junction boxes...
