2014 Lariat Ultimate CC Dually
Pretty Loaded up with 5th Wheel GN Prep, Upfitter Switches, heated rear seat, etc...
Sticker is 63,300
The truck is about 100 miles away, and I'm kinda dealing with the internet guy and when I asked him what the "real" price was he said it was up to his boss. So I'm wondering what I should be looking at.
This has been a tough decision for me, I have driven a Dodge, but power wise it didn't impress me, compared to my 6.0, so I'm waiting to see when this dually will come in so I can drive it.
Thanks and I guess I may be more than a 6.7 lurker here at some point...just not sure when. If this deal falls through I'm probly just gonna hang on to my 6.0 since its been a great truck and I have a ton of extras in it.
I have to say that the Dodge wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, it just seems low on power compared to my truck, but I'm obviously not comparing apples to apples in more way than 1.
You need to start with the invoice price, Not MSRP, deduct for any local incentives, that gives you a starting point. Do you have the window sticker available? Or which dealer it is at so we could look it up?
I just asked for the window sticker...its been 8 years since I bought a truck so Im trying to get the best deal I can since this will most likely be my last new truck....and to say Im shocked at what these cost is an understatement.
Go to KBB and/or Edmunds and get the true market value for your zip code. If they give you the window sticker you can option it out accordingly. Work on them from there. Send email inquireys to other dealers. They should be within 100 miles. Good luck and keep us informed. PS, thought you were going to hang on to the ole gal??
I may still hang on to it. The deal has to be real good for me to walk away from my 6.0 I got bad news from the tax man today and I need a write off for my business so I guess if I can swing it I may look into a truck. If not I will do the dually conversion on my truck and just keep it until the wheels fall off.
So if someone can tell me what the invoice is that would be cool....and thanks Senix I was kind of hoping you would reply since this truck is probably pretty close to yours equipment wise.
The salesman at the Dodge dealer was really nice and he brought up something to me that I had never thought of. My truck is still saleable from a dealer stand point because its still new enough to be able to finance someone if need be. Another year or 2 of me hanging on to it could be bad for me resale wise.
This truck is 2 weeks away from this dealer so they say, and then I've thought of ordering a truck too, but I would like to get some miles under my belt before camping season.

Sarge
mine stickered for a hare over 63K. Invoice was a hare over 50K. I would expect the same. I don't have the upfitter switches is all.
I always just buy at invoice. Small town dealer, I'm a regular and know all the folks there so I don't mind them making a few hundred, everyone has to get their share. I'm ok with it as long as I know what everyone in the deal is getting. Only thing I hate is not knowing who is getting how much.
In your case, getting the truck for about 58 would be good in my opinion.
Good luck. I'm sure the ram is nice enough, I'd be real curious about the cummins because I have such an affinity for I6 engines. I just can't be happier with the ford chassis though, it's one fantastic tow vehicle.
If 58 is about what its gonna be before rebates Im not sure I want to strap myself to that much of a payment. Im not the type that is willing to finance more than 48 months so I can only imagine what that's going to equate too.
I can swing it but I just don't want to strap myself, and I was already told that they wouldn't match the trade offer the Dodge dealer gave me.
I can imagine the flaming I would get if I jumped ship and went to the Dodge. I feel that they have come along way from what they were. But it does seem to lack power, as I already said, compared to my truck.
