np203 chain replacement; how difficult?
No takers in the tranny/diff forum...Has anyone taken this on? Any success/horror stories? Where is the best place to get a chain? How much? What is a reasonable price to have a shop do it? Tell me anything I might need to know.

np203 chain replacement; how difficult?
i rebuilt my 203 t case a few months ago. it wasnt that hard. i got the chain and rebuild kit from 4xheaven. they have an advertisment in the back of all the 4wd magazines. i cant remember the price. i think the chain was about 100 bucks and the rebuild kit with all of the seals and gaskets was under 50 bucks. just remember to get a socket big enuff to fit the rear pinion bearing. i used a haynes manual and it was pretty helpfull. just remember how everything comes out of the case. i forgot how the 2wd conversion kit went in and had to do research on how it did. let us know how it goes for you. if you have abny questions feel free to ask. it is still kinda fresh in my head.

*shrug of the shoulders* how about just going down to a junk yard and grabbing another 203, or 205 out of something else, they seem plentiful around here, most of the not even broken in yet!!
