6.4 Fuel issues help

I got 08 6.4 diesel. I drained the diesel fuel out of the HFCM, removed the HFCM manifold cover and cleaned the HFCM. I put the cover back on the HFCM now i have a no start issue. Any ideas what my problem might be?

Air in your fuel. You need to purge the air out. Cycle key on and off a few times before attempting to start. On for a second or two, then off. You'll hear the fuel pump kick on. You may also purge the air from the schrader valve under the hood on the fuel cooler drivers side near the brake fluid reservoir.

Also check the inertia switch on the passenger side behind the access panel to the right of the glovebox on the side of the dash. That has been known to trip.

I *think* you might have to cycle the key several times to get the fuel circulating again.
Like put it to run, don't start, wait several second, repeat.

Yep, same as the above, can be a finicky creature after a messing with the HFCM. I believe your supposed to turn on the key for like thirty seconds, turn off, repeat like six times. If still no start go to the fittings on the cooler and purge the air. There are you tube videos on this procedure.

The book, if I recall says cycle the key to the on position for at least 6 times.

So turn the key to the on position. Listen for the buzz from the fuel pump. When the buzz shuts off then key off and back on again. 6 times.

If it does not start after that might just check the fuel cutoff switch to see if it popped. Possible but not likely.
