My DEF light came on, up till now the dealer had replaced it as part of service. The 30000 they did not. So Ive been researching and found the Walmart Blue DEF.
I have not been able to find any evidence to the contrary of my believe that DEF is DEF no matter the brand. It isn't a critical fluid like coolant, motor oil or diesel fuel so it is pretty hard to screw up. After all, the major component of DEF is water.

Wal-Mart doesn't make or sell DEF. It's a Peak product, and it's sold in auto parts stores, big box retailers, truck stops, and just about everywhere else that would possibly sell DEF.
This stuff meets the ISO standard for DEF, and I've never heard of an issue with it. My last DEF fill was with this stuff before I sold the truck.
I've used Peak Blue DEF with no issues. I like that it comes in one gallon containers so its easy to take a gallon on a long trip just incase the warning light comes on along the way. Keep a couple empty containers and fill at the local truck stop and save some $.
There's even one truck stop along one of my routes that sells it for $2.19 a gallon.
Keep swearing that I am going to get a drum and fill it there and keep it at the house but then never get around to it.
I wouldn't recommend buying such a large quantity. For as long as it takes to use 5 gallons, you would be long beyond the expected shelf life before you used more than half of a drum. Filling the truck at the bulk pump as well as a pair of 2.5 gal jugs would be at least 3-4 months supply for most people.
