My 08 F-350 has gone to automatically turning the back-up sensors off. Occasionally they will work, but more often than not they don't. The off light is lit on the switch when they don't and I cannot enable them nor get this light extinguished. Is there a common cause of this failure? TIA
When I owned an Excursion this is how I was told you can do a simple test. With the key on ( truck not running ), put the e-brake on and put it in reverse. Put your ear right up to the sensors, if any of them are clicking real fast, that would be the suspect sensor. I know this worked on my 2004 Excursion to diagnose a bad one.
i know mine are very sensitive to any dirt or even water on them after washing the truck. have you replaced any sensors yet? are they cheap? easy to replace?
