reverse sensors intermit

On occasion I'll have the reverse sensors quit working. I'll drop the shifter in reverse and the 'OFF' light on the button will illuminate. I took the sensors out and blew them clean with compressed air, dielectric geased the connectors and reinstalled the plugs. Let's see if that does the trick.
As mentioned, it's occasional and nothing in particular will trigger the fault....it's very random. Something tells I have'nt seen the end of this problem, but tracking an intermittant fault is a bitch.

I had that for a while, then it went to 'off' all the time. Had the outside left sensor replaced under warranty and all is good again.

Next time it does it:

Shut off truck while still in reverse
Set parking brake
Turn ignition on to engage reverse lights, etc.
Go to back of truck
Stick your ear on each sensor.

The one that sounds different or does not sound at all is bad.

At least that worked for me.

on the pickups, i foudn the module behind teh glove box, on the right side interior wall of the cab.

I repalced the speaker on the module, but still have issues. Will work momentarily (one quick beep), with a trailer hooked up to the trailer connector....but then does not work. Without a trailer, no sound at all.

Any ideas? I hate to replace a module that has nothing wrong with it. All 4 sensors click too.

Check the harness plug too. It is on the driver's side rear just outside the hitch and spare tire. Check for corrosion and gunk. Add dielectric grease or Fluid Film.
