I'm going to do the 50 cent mod but I've read where the valve cover are reusable, then I read where you need new ones.
Which is correct ?
Also DieselOrings.com has the UVH and says it's ome ??
Has anyone dealt with DieselOrings.com ??
Thanks, I'll be careful taking the VC off ..
And I guess if the 50 cent mod does work I'll put it all back together and get a harness..
The dang VC gasket is twice as much as the harness, why's that ?
Also if the mod doesn't work can I drive without connecting the intercooler pipe ? I'll reconnect the air filter to the tubro ..
Thanks for all the help, this is my first time doing this so it's a learning experience.

no, the tubes are for the travel of the air, to the motor.
The vc gasket is expensive because it has a corporated plug for the uvch to attach to
OK, I've got the valve cover off and the connection inside had slide down about 1/4 in.
so I'll grind my quarter down and put it in..
What should I tighten or torque down while in there ?
And tell me how am I suppose to get that bolt back in that's by the fire wall ??
I did get it out but it was luck !
Is there a torque spec for the VC bolts ??
Thanks and I'll be back after getting the quarter in ..
The rear bolt on the driver side, and the passenger side bolts beside the HVAC box are easiest with a 13mm short flex socket like this one. The passenger side rear bolt can be done with a regular 13mm deep socket pretty easily, as can the rest. Be careful not to twist your dipstick tube when trying to get the nut off the front of the passenger side. I had to take a cutoff wheel to that one . . .
Thanks for the pic of that flew socket, I had no idea they had such. I've been using a short 13 mm attached to a swivel and I got lucky..
Hopefully I won't have to do the pass. side for a while this one side is kicking this old man's *** and I use to be pretty good at getting around etc.. But two hip replacements and two bad knees I can't do what I use to..
I'll make sure everything under the cover is tight.
But torque specs would help ....
Injector hold downs - 120 INCH/lbs (10 ft/lbs), but you should make sure they're already torqued to at least 50 in/lbs. Anything less, and you might have some o-rings that need to be changed.
I'm keeping my fingers, arms, legs and toes crossed.
I put everything back together and no SOS light and idles smooth..
I haven't been on the hwgy. yet but will probably if I need anything
from town.
Thank you all for the great help and advice..
