I have a 2011 F150 that has a broken driver side mirror. The dealership wants $700 to replace the glass, but I can find brand new takeoffs for less than half of that.
My question is, I see some ads advertise 09-14, and some advertise 11-12. Is there any real difference as long as they have the same features?(single, heat, etc)
I'm not sure of the physical differences or wiring differences, but I do know that the '09-'14 mirrors will bolt onto an '04-'08 truck, so the chances of being incompatible are small. Are you going to replace just the one, or as a set to add other functionality? What features do you currently have?

Thanks.
yeah same features = exact fit.
if the mirror is the only thing broke (just the glass) you can replace just the glass at a fraction of cost .
I am adding the same functionality. It has signal, heated, and power.
The glass is $700 installed, or I can get 2 brand new full mirrors taken off a new truck for $300.
If you are just replacing a heated mirror, you can get a mirror glass on eBay or Amazon for around $25-$30. However, if you are replacing a heated, auto-dimming mirror; you are talking a Ford part and a brand new one will be in the neighborhood of $280, or more.
