Heated side mirror replacement
Someone clipped my drivers side heated side mirror, the big mirror on top, not the small wide angle one. I was able to order a replacement mirror from one of the site sponsors for about $50 shipped. Anyone have experience getting the broken mirror out and the new one in? Any tricks or special tools needed? Anything to be extra careful about? Thanks.

Taking the old one out is easy.... Sticking the new one in was a real PITA!!! It would probably be easiest to take the mirror off the truck to install. My mirror came with the glass broken in it... But the glass is real easy to just pop in... but the trick is the little rubber seals/covers for the mechanism that moves it in and out... It just takes some time and patients... I spent more time doing this than installing the new mirrors on my pickup... But just pull/snap out the old glass and you will figure out what needs to be done...

Just have to be careful with these mirrors. They do stick out a bit. I always find myself slowing way down esp. in residential areas. Too many people have been walking out on the street and have come real close to my mirrors.
