Phew... Rich you scared the s**t out of me. For a second I thought that was your truck. I looked at the picture first and didn't read it. Just saw that it was white, and forgot yours was an EC.
I bet the guy was so sick and tired and fed up with dealing with his 6.0, that he parked it on the tracks and stood and watched as the damn thing got destroyed by the train.....
But seriously I hope no one was hurt. That looks pretty bad... But also true, I guess it could be worse for getting hit by a train. That really sucks to see a super duty like that.
It's always sad to see a nice vehicle ruined beyond repair, accident or abuse it's just sad.
I found this gem behind Brian's shop (BTS) and I was able to pick the door panels out of it. (the e99 Lariat's did not have the wood grain on the upper doors) Mine does now thanks to this truck sliding down the road on it's lid.

That passenger side mirror looks like its in good shape.
When I saw this picture , the first thought i had was that a train hit it at a high rate of speed, like Amtrak. Wow unbelievable amount of damage . Nothing like perfectly good truck destroyed in seconds.

Reason: wrong title
I'm with Trey, that isn't that bad for a TRAIN collision.
Agreed.
I looked this up: A single hopper car easily surpasses 110 tons and an engine can be 90 tons, where many semis with a 40' trailer have a combined max weight of 40 tons. Our 4 tons equates to a bug on the windshield of a train. The engineer would be in the cockpit "Did I just hear something?" without being certain anything occurred... if he didn't see it.

it is, if it were going through a neighborhood where speed needs to be impeded. check out the steering wheel again, the tops layed over and the bottom is folded up from, more than likely, his/her legs/knees

Actually modern (6 axle) locos weight as much as 460k lbs, 230 tons! Csx has some "heavy" engines with extra weight for added low speed traction in the appalacian mtns

I think you're right. I was just relieved to not see blood stains, or any sign of extraction from that passenger side. If there was anybody on the passenger side at the time of the accident, it would have been far more gruesome.

I did a very brief search and just found the 90 tons to be the "heavy" category in Europe. Everything I read said the weight is limited by the rails more than anything else, and I didn't dig any further.
I don't think the truck was hit at high speed, it looked more like it was ran over and dragged a bit.
