Injector repair problems

Injector repair problems

I am helping my neighbor with his hpo oil leak, I bought the tool (robinthehood) for the nipple cups for the oil rails and those went in good. Now we are trying to get the c clips off the top of the injectors to replace those o-rings. We have watched all the videos we can find and can't seem to get them off. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Brian

They are a huge pain in the butt. I don't pull them. I pull the old ring out with a pick and put the new one in the same way. After you do a couple you get a feel for it.

Just roll them a bit to soften and warm them. Then push them in past the ring and spacer. Then use a small flat-head screwdriver to push it in under the ring and into place. Keep it all oiled a bit too, helps them push in.

That's what I did to.

That is what i did, just make spacer stays on top with the c clip.

I just finished my passenger side last night without removing the clips, just some oil and a little finess and they go right into place.

I was thinking about just working them in without removing the c clip. Thanks for the replies.

Ok I rebuilt all my injectors and oil rail. I'm no getting a leak from a different injector. Sounds like it's at the top of the injector again . Or from the dummy plug. Should I replace the injector or try taking o ring out of the top.

Did you change all the injector O-rings excepted the top one? What about the nipple O-rings? is the dummy plug a resigned one if not change to the new design dummy plug and stand pipes. Better yet, start a new thread and get the expert help. I am just a nobody.

I rebuilt all the outer o rings and the one on top. I also rebuilt the nipple cup o rings. The dummy plugs and stand pipe has been updated. Thanks for the reply. All info is good info

Got the truck together it started up drove to worked to be a little sluggish. Drove home and lost power and truck taunted off. Any suggestions
