Glad someone is. I really don't want to do the work.

It's a lot easier than pulling intakes...

Hmm.

Pulling the intake isn't that bad. Maybe I should finally do something about my injectors...

You just had to bring the intake up. That is in the plan also. I need
to install my BPD EGR cooler. I talked to the people over at Fugate
Ford. They did head gaskets before I bought it and anytime the heads
are off they clean the turbo. So I won't have to do that unless I want
to with the way I drive. While the intake is off it's going to get a good
cleaning to remove all the carbon/soot. I do have an intact EGR system
but it's turned off with a tune.

Right now I guess I should go out and do that relative compression test.
Truck is nice and warm for the Costco run and dinner break. Yes dinner
at Costco Chicken Bake. Yummy!

3 things suck about injectors:

1) Passenger side the lower 2 VC bolts if you don't have a 12mm flex ratchet wrench

2) Passenger side oil rail is a biotch without a stubby torx bit or at least a mini 1/4" ratchet

3) I hate removing the FICM brackets for whatever reason.

As for intakes, that part isn't bad, I despise re-installing the turbo no matter how many times I have done it.

Good info. I may have to polish my spool valves in a couple of weeks here. How long do you think it takes?

2.5 hours seems typical. Throw in a few more minutes if you also change out the oil rail nipple o-rings.

Props to ya if you decide to change out the upper injector o-ring, that sucker is a bugger to change out.

Agree on all three, so friggin tight in the engine compartment. My first truck (a Chevy C10) had so much space I could actually sit on the radiator, feet dangling inside the compartment and change plugs. On the Ex, I was hard up to find a spot to mount the relay for my lights. Things have changed.

On the turbo, the biggest pain IMHO is to align the exhaust on the turbo. Found that loosening the pipes at the exhaust manifolds made it real easy.

You know if you look at the two images
#7 is low in both.

Now how they relate I have no idea.
