86 Bronco - Starter engages when put into reverse !!
My 86 Bronco ignition was real stiff to turn and impossible to turn over when it gets below 0 degrees. I pulled the column apart today to check the linkage going from the key to the switch, I was able to get it working real good, when i got everything back together the truck starts in park, but it also engages the starter in reverse anytime the key is turned on?!?!? Which means if the truck is running, I cant use reverse
I replaced the ignition switch down on the column, and the key but it did not help. Any help is appreciated

Your wires are shorted or wired wrong that go down to the side of the tranny. The reverse light wiring and the neutral start wiring are bundled together down there and both go to the switch mounted on the side of the auto tranny. If the wiring gets damaged or mixed up, the reverse light power can get on the neutral start wiring and make the solenoid engage.
