Solenoid only clicks
This past week, Monday night to be exact, my starter solenoid went out. I hit the switch and it only clicked. No biggie, I had a spare. I put it on and got the same click. Tuesday afternoon I got a replacement for both my solenoids and put one on. Nothing. I figuered I got a bad one so I yank it off and put the other one on. Still nothing, just that dang click. I pulled it off, put the wire wheel on my grinder and cleaned up the inner fender real good, used new bolts and nylock nuts to mount it and tried it again. Same thing. I pulled it again and cleaned all the wire ends, put dielectric grease on all the connections and tried again. Same click.
I know the starter is good. I can bypass the solenoid and it starts right up. The battery is fully charged and all my grounds are clean and tight. Any ideas as to what might be going on?
