Well I got the ubiquitous "Bank 1 Too Lean" code this morning.
Yesterday I changed out the PVC Valve, Elbow and Hose assy.
I changed out the hose from the intake to the canister purge valve on the firewall next to the master brake cylinder, that one was like dust.
Today I'm changing out the rear O2 sensors, but I may change out the fronts when they get them in (very rural area hear).
I'll keep looking for vacuum leaks and change out the MAF sensor.
I hate to think it may be the intake

Curious to know which bank you are refering to. I have a code the says bnk 2 has a faulty sensor, found out today that there is a very good chance that I have an intake manifold leak due to excessive build up of antifreeze setting on my intake gotta go let me know
Here is a great thread on the subject: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/8...on-5-4l-2.html
I'm about to buy a new manifold today or in the morning and get ready to grab a wrench or two myself and be done with it.

I just realized that you drive a 5.4, ive got the 4.2 . Duh!!! you wouldnt know of a thread for the 4.2 by chance . Im sure its all the same but different . thantks for the help
Why are you jumping on parts, the work and the expense before locating the issue?
The codes are from an air leak.
Leave the MAF , Ox sensors alone it's not them.
Find the air leak.
The 171/174 codes are generated by both banks because they see the problem from both as common a fault.
All the cylinder breathe form then same common intake plenum area.
The codes are set when the fuel tables shift outside of limits trying to correct for the fault of excess air.
So could it be a cracked intake?
Expense? - Because I'm not building hot rods anymore and I like having something to work on. Replacing parts for me is allot cheaper than other things I could be doing.
Bluegrass got me thinking -
Okay I found that the shop that changed my alternator rolled the rubber inlet onto the throttle body, leak there.
The Lower hose on the inlet shown here was worn loose and leaking:
And the other end of the lower hose was loose, need a new elbow (how do I find the part number?):
