Conversion from column shift linkage to console shift linkage

Any tips on the feasibility of converting a column shift linkage to a console link shift linkage. Have a 2000 F350 SD with an factory automatic O/D transmission/column shift.. Have gotten my hands on the seats and console out of a King Ranch truck. Have learned here that the seats should fit rarely easily - curious about the console and shift linkage? Any conversion packages on the shift linkage? Any advice or tips - highly appreciated. Thanks in advance Jim

Welcome to FTE and the Super Duty forum CPAK.

I was not aware that the Super Duty King Ranch editions had console shifts. Are you sure you didn't end up with F-150 KR parts?

Thanks

Stuart, thanks for the information. If you are correct( which I have no doubt that you are) I assume the seats may not be an easy fit also. Accordingly, I need to find a set of seats and a console out of Super Duty KR edition? Jim

Superdutys did not have console shifters. You'll have to adapt whatever you find.

Adapting the F-150 KR seats to the Super Duty has been done, I think. Super Duty KR seats would be easier (just about bolt in).

The console shifter could also be adapted. It may not be easy, but it's possible.

Had a 2010 F150 FX4 with console shift. I thought it was the coolest feature I'd seen in a pickup truck in a long time. I'd do it again as an option in a Super Duty if it didn't require some ridiculously priced package with a whole bunch of other stuff I don't need or want.

I never understand the fascination with console shifters on an auto trans. You use the thing once when you get in and once when you get out. Why would you want it right in the middle of all your convenient and usable storage spaces? It should be as far out of the way as possible, like behind the steering wheel where it's not in the way of anything.
