I've looked through the forums but haven't come across this post. Might have just missed it bit I have an 06 f250 4x4 no lift and I was wondering what size tire I could go with without a lift and still be able to haul. I've heard 35's but it seems like they would be too tight. Truck does sit lvl. Thanks
Well, I'm not sure about largest, but on my '03, 35/12.50's fit but I have some issue with fender scrub while turning whenever there is some compression on the suspension. Like turning into a drive way that has an incline. I had 285/75-16's on the truck when I got it and had no problem even before leveling. A 305/75-16 is 34" tall. I feel like that would be the size for me next time....unless I bump it up 2" beforehand. Load range "E" should be sufficient.
I think the 05-07 trucks had a little bit different stance but not sure. I need to get some d or e tires. Got Lt's right now and I want to go up in size. I might just go with 33 or 34's.
I have 295/65 - 20s (Toyo Open Country AT2) on my 2006. They just catch the factory mudflap. They are 35 inches tall and 11.8 inches wide. In my opinion this is MAX size on factory wheels and these trucks.
I don't think you can fit a 35 12.5 tire on these trucks without some rub or lift. I also don't think anyone reccomends a 12.5 inch tire on an 8 inch wide factory wheel, although people do it.
I am not sure what size wheel you have but I would look in the 33 or 34 inch range and 10 to 11 inches wide.
The offset/width of your wheel also matters if you have aftermarket wheels.
Factory 17x7.5 wheels. I'm probably going to run 33's then. I don't want to be maxed out entirely. Thanks for the info. When I get them I'll let y'all know how they do.
I run a 285/70R16E BFG (33 inch), in place of the stock 265/70R17E (32 inch) on the stock wheels.
You should consult with your local tire store. The shop I deal with will not go larger than a 285 on the stock rim. Other members have had the shops install 305s on stock wheels.
One word of warning; just going from the stock size to a tire 10mm wider and 1 inch taller took about 1.5 MPG off my average mileage.
