dual or single shock?

I am going to install a 8" DR lift on my 2002 F350 PSD and was wondering whats the best route to go? I am putting single shocks in the rear but have questions about the front. Will having dual shocks (fox racing or DR with reservoir) make my ride very stiff? I do plan to off road, but only about once a month. Or should I go single shock? PROS/CONS? any help will do...thanx

Going with a shock like DR, that's specifically valved for the SD, and doubling it up will definitely make the ride a little stiffer. If you go with a rebuildable shock like Fox you have the advantage of valving the shock to suit your needs. So if you really want the look of a dual shock you could simply valve each shock to be softer so you don't loose your fillings or beat the truck apart. There probably isn't going to be a performance advantage with dual shocks off-road on a non-dedicated off-road rig. Anything you do off-road that would be rough enough to necessitate duals would probably break some stock parts, quickly ending the fun.
