i have built many stacking racks for the beds of pickups over the years, but never made one for a truck with a bedliner.
the bedliner in my 02 shortbed has the little pockets for 2 tier stacking.
i measured 70 inches from side to side, and cut the wood 69 1/4 inch to allow wiggle room to get it in.
there is no way in h e double toothpicks the wood is ever going to fit in the front pockets with the way the ribbing in the bedliner is formed.
how are you suppose to get the wood in the pockets?
Did you only measure the back? I know that on my 05' the bed is tapered at least at the top tail the front is skinnier than the rear. On my in laws truck we did the same as you cut it a bit short then you had to slap it down to get past the rib. As long as you have decent contact on the ledge I would not worry about a little side to side as Long as one end can't slide off.
this is noyt the stock ford liner, it is a duraliner. the front pockets are the same size as the rears, but there is a VERY LARGE rib above the wheel well that prevents getting the board into the pockets.
anyway, one of the local carpenters stopped by to ask a question on hauling so waste away from a job, and he looked at it. simple fix, you just have to use force he said.
and 35 minutes later he not only had it in, but built the whole shelf assembly for me.
so i reciprocated by giving him a hand moving about a ton of dirt/rubble from a sidewalk job to his backyard to use a fill in a ditch.
