06 F-250 Lariat:
Bought a new tag along 2 horse trailer and when towing it home, turning sharp, had a beep / tone happen. It happened in mid turn, only lasted a couple of seconds. This has happened 3 times now, doesn't matter left or right. Nothing seems to be affected.
I have towed 2 different goose neck trailers and at least half a dozen other tag along trailers with no beeping. It sounds like a seat belt alarm tone.
I was thinking the built in brake controller may have lost connection momentarily. Any thoughts?
Given the problem is only with this one trailer, I would start with the trailer. The seven pin cord on the horse trailer isn't so long it is catching on the fender in turns is it? I had to rewire one where that was the problem. It finally tore the seven pin cord off the trailer completely off.
This sounds dumb but does your truck have a back sensors? When the new trailer is hooked up to your truck is the box closer to the bumper? Maybe when you turn sharply the box is closer than other trailers and the sensors are setting off the alarm?

Interesting thought and certainly something I didn't think of!
I'm with Scott on this. Loose connection with trailer plug.
If the tone is from the controller signaling a disconnect, it has to be related to the trailer plug as doesn't happen with any other trailer. Has to be a trailer issue, if it were a truck seven pin issue, it should be happening with other trailers and OP said it does not.
My two cents,
Steve
