Radiator or hose problem
Had to remove the bumper, but all seemed well but ugly.
No leaks etc.
Second day a leak of coolant started from bottom area, not sure exactly where.
I live far from truck, so I had a friend take me home with all of my toolboxes.
I went back and we tried to see problem, but lacked a good mirror and good flashlight, and tools.
Must be the hoses with the tee or a crack in bottom of radiator. Do those hoses come as a set? If it is the radiator, can I seal crack with JB weld? Something else? Must have the truck working at least part time. Having a hard time getting a ride into town, so I need to know what to try.
Thanks
As for sealing the radiator with JB Weld, I doubt it would work and I would advise against trying it. The last thing you need is something like that to blow apart on you in the middle of nowhere and leave you stranded. If it is, indeed the radiator, I would either pull it and take it to a radiator shop for them to look it over, or just find a different radiator to put into it. I have never had much luck fixing a leaky radiator myself and believe me, if it could be done I would do it.
Over on the Saturn site, some fellas have tried to repair cracked plastic radiator tanks, and have mostly failed. Our rads hold a lot more coolant, and esp. the bottom tank would have the weight of all the coolant in the rad on top of it. Outlook for such a repair is dim.
