There is a big difference between new and used. Which is it?
"New" means that it has never been installed. The carb and intake would be okay but unless the seller ID'ed which lifter came from which cam lobe, then pass on it because lifters and cam lobes become matched after their use. Swap 'em around and the cam will be wiped out.
At retail the 2106 lifter/cam kit goes for $210, a new 2105 intake is about $330, the timing set for $60. Basically it's 50 percent off plus no tax (hopefully).
Used 2105 intakes at the swap meet range between $200 and $250... sellers seem to have a hard time keeping them in stock. I'd go for it...
FYI.....Eat your Wheaties..... the OE FE intake weighs 83 lbs... the 2105 weighs a mere 22 lbs.
Opt for new intake bolts, a one-inch phenolic carb spacer (4-hole), and a full gasket kit. Another part you may need include the heater hose fitting atop the manifold. Order it from NPD's Mustang catalog which lists it as PN 18599-10 as a 5/8-inch, single port fitting .. about $10.
Say, I hope you rig already has headers and dual exhaust. The parts above would really show their worth if the exhaust side is ready for more air and fuel.
I am having the heads done next week. They are the D2TEAA heads. Nothing special being done to them just the standatd stuff. My block is a 390 C4AE 6015-A bored .060 over. Will the EB intake and cam work well with this setup? Also, what carb would you recommend?
