Truck was running fine but tach wasn't working.I replaced the tach and now it cranks but won't start. Also the fuel gauge was working fine before but now sits way past full.I had to unscrew the cluster and tilt it back slightly to get to the top lens screws. What did I screw up? Thank's Mark

Did you disconnect the battery before you did this? Just a thought, something may have shorted out had you not.
Do you still hear the fuel pump for a second or two when you turn the key on? If not check the fuses under the hood. Specifically, I think the third fuse from the driver side fender in the middle row. If you hear the fuel pump when you turn the key on, disregard this post.
My fuel gauge stopped working out of nowhere...I replace the sending unit (no pipe tape) and still nothing. I grounded the wire with the ignition on and the gauge didn't move....soooo....I bought a used temp/oil gauge and replaced it on my cluster, problem solved. I think they just go bad after awhile...they're not a really rigid gauge if you pull them and look at them. Seems like I bought the oil/temp gauge off ebay for $32 awhile back. It was a real easy swap...just be sure and unhook the battery !! As far as the no start....yeah, check the fuses.
You nailed it subford.Thank you very much.I thought I had fried something.Plugged that back in,the truck fired right up!Gauges all work and my re-soldered tach works perfect.FTE,greatest ford site on the net!Thank's everyone. Mark
