my 2001 f150 just put a new fuel pump in it last week and now it is chiming 5 times..pauses then 5 chimes pauses (does this 5 times for a total of 25 chimes ..any idea what it is telling me

 

It's not the fuel pump circuit.
You have something else going on in the warning system like safety belt, key in ignition switch with door open etc.

I didn't think it had anything to do with the fuel pump but thought I would put as much info out there as possible to help trouble shoot it..

 

Covered in your owner's manual under the airbag section.

Basically, the light in the cluster isn't working AND you have some type of fault in the SRS.

 

Ive owned this truck for 13 years and I have no clue were the owners manual is. lol...

how can I shut it off for good

 

Fix the problem it's complaining about.

 

it has 300k miles on it..for as little as its driven I don't want to put a couple hundred bucks into it for a spare car in the drive way if I don't have to

 

can I just replace the bulb ?

 

Sure. Then it will flash a fault code at you so you can figure out what's wrong.

 

it had been flashing a flash code for about 5 years..the bulb burned out on the on / off switch for the passenger air bag...the dealer wanted like $90 for the part...I just let it blink (after reading the code and seeing that's all it was) so I have a complete dash and interior available to me and I will replace both pieces .

 

The PAD bulb can be replaced with a $2bulb from Radio Shack (while they're still in business) if you can solder.

j just recently got the same chimes 5 x 5. tore my entire dash out trying to figure out what it was, then I came on here and found out what it was and how to fix it. yes it is the bulb in the dash for your airbag. replace the bulb and the chimes go away.
