Is there any special tools needed? other than the harmonic balancer remover.
I was told chisel the old wear ring off, to install new one put the wear ring in the freeze for an hour and place the harmonic balancer in the oven for an hour and the wear ring should slip right on.
To get the seal in the pump housing place the housing in the oven for an hour and place the seal in the freeze for an hour and it should slip right in also.
I ordered the LPOP O ring, got it today. Its orange in color, shouldn't it be black?
I think it's the other way around on the wear ring; you'd heat the ring and cool the balancer. You want the ring to expand and the balancer shaft to contract.

I don't use a chisel because if you hit it too hard and make a groove on the balancer it will make a path for a oil leak. Just dent it with a ball peen hammer in one place several times and it will swell it. Cool the balancer and warm the wear ring.
I have a question on the lpop o ring
I order a LPOP from Ford thinking the stock pump and melling would share the same o ring. The ford O ring I have is orange, and the O ring on the old pump and the new melling is black square cut o-ring.
Where do I find the black square cut o-ring?
