oil leak oil leak question

First leak I know what it is just wondering about a short cut its the dip stick plug on oil pan . I was wondering if I rig something up that goes into dipstick hole to hold inner plug and picked out the old o ring and stuffed a new one thru hole in oil pan would work ???? Instead of pulling motor or pulling turbo and trans and jacking motor up .
Second I see a oil puddle in valley on pass side of turbo by head I see a line there but don't think its leaking anything else around that area leak?? Its dripping down back of motor a little just want to get it fixed before it becomes a bigger issue

WARNING! Take your time. DON'T allow the adaptor to fall into the pan. Tie the brush handle with some twine or something like a shoe string to it and then to something on the motor or frame. If it falls in, just pull the string to pull it back to the hole.

In that location I would think the EBPV actuator or the turbo pedestal seals. In the pic the turbo seals fit in the grooves on top and similar grooves below, and the shaft with the hole actuates the EBPV by oil pressure. The orings on the actuator normally seep a little, but when they go it can leak pretty good. Set of O rings from Bob and you're good to go.

Heck I did it, can't be that bad.

Yep, the pedestal goes in the valley and is the turbo mount. If you're like me and can live with some 'normal' oil seepage, the o ring kit is fine. If you're picky go for the full pedestal rebuild kit that includes more replacement parts. Or if you want to eliminate that leak and will never tow and want a decel tune, swap in a EBPV delete pedestal.

While in there... did you replace the up pipe donuts? If not, they prolly need replacing. Factory is ok-ish but I went with Felpro 8194 with success. If you have the coin bellowed IH uppies is the bee's knees. Dormans can be had much cheaper, tho I read some gripes about quality. With the turbo out replacing the passenger side fuel line is easy, and they tend to fail at the P strap clamp with age, good preventive maintenance.

While the turbo is out you might consider a compressor wheel upgrade to it. Like everything, depends on your goals and budget.

Do a bit of reading on each subject, become a google search ninja, take your time, and find a comfortable pad to cover that sweet hood latch while you are belly down on it.

Man your a info junkie lol I'll look into all of these for sure my truck only has 99k on the clock . I was hanging out on riff Raff page and seen new boot kit and ... I forget the names but to me would sort of be like an intake there's a plate on each head with a boot on it , some oil line upgrade kit I seen are these a good preventative purchase or more for performance ? I'm a mechanic but 99.99% is gas motors so not sure what a lot of this stuff is needed or looks or performance stuff. And no I didn't change anything but what I listed due to I was on a time issue needed to tear thru it and get it done . I got it all done in just under 8 hours not sure how good or bad I did for my first time but my truck is also lifted 8 in on 37 in tires so I'll need a little more book time added on lol
