Any Job#1 Issues???

Just curious, were there any job #1 issues with the 6.7L??? With my budget I am considering a 2011 F350. Seems to be less issues as a whole compared with the 6.4L. Also, I have heard different things from different people but since this truck uses DEF does it still dump extra fuel in the back two cylinders for Regen???

There is still the regen process. Although it is less now. Since there is also SCR. So they were able to dial back the amount of EGR.

Regen is only dumped on this motor from one side of the motor vs the 6.4 which used all eight of them.

A few 2011 job 1 builds had engine issues but most of those few issues were on the cab/chassis models (different 6.7L design) so don't let that hold you back.
Look at the history of this truck. If it's had a repair free life, grab it.
Get the Ford ESP if you can if you're purchasing from a dealer. That warranty will pay for itself if it's needed.
Make sure the dealer has the latest firmware updates for the computer modules as well.
That helps with the early poor shifting programming.
Also, hopefully it's had the shift solenoids updated too (I don't remember the TSB #).

The engine in my truck has been flawless.
One turbo issue but that was a computer issue instead of a mechanical issue.

DEF is easy. Add fluid when needed and keep driving.

Active regeneration activates the left bank of fuel injectors during the exhaust stroke.
It is much improved over the 6.4L.
It also has passive regeneration. This means the DPF will burn off soot when EGT's are high enough due to workload without an active regeneration.
This is typically occurring when towing heavy on a highway or interstate.
This reduces the need for an AR (as often).

May of 2010 build and zero engine/transmission issues. My only complaint is a wobble in the front end but that is easily resolved. 45K miles with about 20% of that pulling a very heavy trailer all over the Rocky Mountains and Sierra Nevadas. I have a buddy who has a 2013 Dodge that gets 9 mpg average without towing. He picked the RAM because he didn't want to deal with DEF. Doh!

2011 Job 1. 100,000 miles - two NOX sensors, now deleted so no problem. Currently need to replace brake vacuum pump gasket to stop oil leak but that is a reasonable part and DIY. That's it for me in over 100,000 miles other than regular maintenance.

Some people have had radiator and turbo problems but that isn't specific to Job 1.

May 2010 build one also. I have had the dreaded radiator leak and the composite oil pan replaced due to leaking (sure do miss that drain valve!). Make sure you check the radiator near the pitcock for leakage.

39k miles about 22k towing my fifth wheel.... tows like a dream!

Even with the the oil pan and radiator leaks, my only real complaint about the truck REMAINS TO BE my rear end bounce @ 40-45 mph.

They are great trucks!

Just curious, what is the asking price on a used 11?

Got my 11 in sept 2010, build date July 2010 (same month as my birthday) had the radiator leak around 38k and a 4x4 engagement issue other than that nothing, that has been fixed. 58k now deleted around 50-52k.

In my area (So Cal) they vary from 30-40k depending on miles and if it is a dealer or private sale. My dad has a 2010 6.4 that I use for towing so just trying to decide which way I want to go. If I go 6.7 it will likely be a stock F350. If I go 6.4 it will likely be a F450 that may or may not be missing certain emissions equipment since it is not smogged here ....

Thanks for all the input! Still not sure if I want to give up my 01 F350 7.3 with only a muffler .... And as with most guys here weighing the options and choices of a very heavy 5er (18-19k) and the "legally rated" trucks to pull it
