Is there any easy way to tell if your computer has been re-flashed?

Is there any easy way to tell if your computer has been re-flashed?

Bought it at 85,000 miles end of 2014. Per the Oasis the previous owner had some Warranty work done around 45,000
If I remember correctly it was the Turbo, a couple injectors and the EGR was upgraded to a Bulletproof.

I have never taken it to the Dealer (I have about 120,000 on it now), when I had my other upgrades done, it was an independent shop .

How can I tell if I've has a re-flash?
I hear I really don't want to have one done anyways.

Thanks
Alan from San Diego

You could take it to the dealer, have them read the pcm and tell you what strategy you have. Or if you have a tuner (or know someone close by with one) you could use it to find out which strategy you have.

Or maybe the independent shop has the ability to read the pcm.

Many out there will give full or partial info on the PCM CAL, less so on the 2003-4 models years, but your year should be good -- you'll see something like vxc########

My IDS does a complete job --- the works. Just did one on a 2005 6.0L with an Innova 5160 Pro -- it too did a decent job. Snap-On works also

Thanks for posting that, Mike! Seems like this sort of question came up some months back and I asked if I had to go to a dealer to even find out what I had.

Time to update my Forscan on the ol' laptop and go see what we have in big Dan. I think my Torque would report back just the 1st part, like VXC9 (or something like that...).

I sort of stumbled on that by accident when I was troubleshooting my low boost issues a few months ago, playing around with all the cool features.

On the laptop version of ForScan it will tell you under the configuration tab, along with the other modules and software versions & dates.

SCT tuner will also tell you.

And the mother of them all, IDS.

Given that turbo and injector work was done at a dealer you
can bet that they also updated it when they did the work.

Thanks so much.
So the re-flash is something that Ford did quite a while ago, or have there been a few updates over the years for the 6.0?

Sorry for all the questions

Over time they have done little things and big things. Like with the trucks that had the heater in the HFCM.
It was disabled in an update when they found that it was something they wished to remove from the system.

Sort of like an update for your home computer but instead of getting when your connected to the internet you have to go
in for some type of service where the hook up the diagnostic computer to your truck/van. Then if Ford had sent out an update
they may or may not of just loaded it without telling you. This is where some people that have tuned trucks get into trouble A well
meaning tech updated the system and in the process wipes out a tune that was loaded into the system. That is one of the reasons
that if you have a tuned truck you want to return to stock if your taking it in for a problem.
