Buddy of mine has a 94 bronco that is SD with a blown up 302. I have a parts f150 here with a 302, but it is a 96 model with OBD 2. I know that the block itself is the same. Is this a pretty straight forward swap? As in using the 94 engine harness and accessories? Its just a mud truck, so all the emissions and what not will be removed. I just want to know what all I have to do with the engine before I start tearing into it.
I would've preferred to have the OBD2 stuff myself, I thought about grabbing a MAF setup at one point, but have given up on doing anything more than maintaining my vehicles. No projects. MAF gives you more cam choices just like a carb setup, but if you're not into that, then yes it's not difficult to go backwards.
If it were an OBD1 truck with MAF, I would have used everything to convert his truck to MAF. But considering that it is OBD 2 and basically EVERYTHING is different, I don't really feel like going through all the wiring changes on a vehicle that will no longer see the road.
