Good to know, thanks!
I need an aggressive tread around here with all the dirt and gravel roads.

Ran treadwrights on 2 trucks, both were the recap versions not the new tire casings they are running now in some sizes. Tried the Wardens on the '08 F250 and a set of 6 Crawlers on the '09 F450. Had two separations out of the 4 with the Wardens in only a few thousand miles, which are the one thing not covered under their warranty. The crawlers on the other hand have held up great, even hit a culvert and took a chunk out of one sidewall and it hasn't phased it. The crawlers I got are F rated and the Wardens were E, Crawlers were also a lot narrower (225 V 265) and that may have played into them not have separation issues like the wardens.

Couldn't afford to take another hit that quick with the Wardens and did not buy another set to replace what failed. At this point I would run another set of Crawlers on the 450, probably will need another set next year.

Should also mention the tire shop I had them mounted at were impressed with them for being recaps, saved about $1K on the 450's tires but then pretty much lost all that when I had to buy a whole new set for the 250.

sounds like you live in a very rugged area if you need an MT like that in the summer. if that's the case the Axiom's would probably not suit you, as they are an AT like the Watchmen B2B, not an MT like the claw and others.

For my area AT's make much more sense. our gravel roads turn to mud in the spring thaw and rain, but never so much that a decent AT won't get you through (i did find myself in 1st gear hoping like heck a few times in my car, though). in the winter, if you get an MT, the claw would be the only one i'd pick for myself, as it is the only one with any siping. Around here, for winter traction, an AT with lots of siping is where it is at.

may i ask how long ago this was?

reason in ask is Treadwright as of late, it seems, has been bending over backwards to make their customers happy with the product. even though their warranty does not cover tread separation, most reports on the internet indicate that they have replaced those tires nearly without question, even if it was prorated for treadwear (which is fair, IMO).

just to be clear, the B2B are still used casings, they are just overmolding the sidewalls now along with the tread for a uniform and "new" appearance.

not that i have a thing for treadwright, but i've been happy with the quality so far.

They are very good about replacing a tire for almost any reason. What I like about the B2B is that they are actually thicker at the sidewall which is always good for off-roading and more protection, plus any sun/weather damage that was originally done is all reset. B2B is the only one I will get now and I hope they expand their sizes in these.

It sounds like they are going to this as some tires have both versions and the non b2b version is on clearance.

i've been running guard dogs on my truck for about exactly a year now. they perform well, look nice, but aren't wearing great (but you don't get much heavier than a CCLB diesel.. my last SD was a reg cab 5.4 which is what i'm comparing to). i predict about 25,000 miles out of them.. not great, but i paid HALF what i would have for a virgin tire. mine are on BFG cases too.

i did have one develop a couple bubbles right above the bead about a month after mounting them, but with a couple pictures they had a replacement in the mail with no further questions or charges. that impressed me.

i've owned BFG mud terrains and Mickey Thompson MTZs, and performance-wise i'd rank these right with them, but i would say they are louder on the road.
