Leg days are always a bit shorter for me since I don't hit the treadmill as long. Usually 15 minutes high intensity to get the heart rate up then straight to squats.
Tomorrow will he straight cardio. Probably 90 minutes on the elliptical.
Good morning Virginia, Tim, Tom, Devin, Shawn, Shaun, Charlie, and all.Congrats to UVA. They butt whipped Syracuse for their first ACC regular season title in decades.

How much do you squat? I was up to 155 this week, but can still probably do another 20lbs. Squats, 250lb leg press, and 70lb plies...my legs have been sore all week!
I have maxed at 270, but usually stick to 220. The old knees just arent as good as they used to. Usually a 5x5 set, sometimes 5x8 sets if I had an extra slice of pizza.
Are you using proper shoes when squatting? Running shoes and squats are a no-no. I use an old ugly pair of Converse.
I leg press 400. Still a little short of my goal but getting there. You should be able to leg press 2.25 your body weight for a complete set.

Just an old pair of crosstrainers. Mom's a personal trainer, so she she always checks to make sure I'm not doing something stupid. I finally switched gyms yesterday. Got tired of watching people with horrible injury-causing form at that sad excuse for a gym.
2.25? So 325 should be my goal, then. Oh boy. I'm shooting for at least 180 on squats and near-bodyweight on bench press. I'm 'only' 40lbs off for bench.
You guys are doing the squats down to a chair or bench aren't you? Don't try the deep Knee bend type of squats.
Also don't forget the old hamstrings.
Ive done both. If I am going max weight I usually go down to a bench to keep the feet planted. Usually I just go free though bringing the hips a bit below the knees.

Thats for leg press. Not sure what the goal is for squats. I know its less than 2x body weight though. Probably closer to 1.5 or 1.75 unless you are a pro.
Bench your body weight is a good goal to set. I am currently at 220# and kinda stuck there. Probably need to move to incline press for awhile to get over the plateau.
