Help with Horn Install

When it comes to electrical work I'm completely lacking know-how. I want to install a switch on column or dash and run new wires to my oem horn. Can someone please guide an electrical dummy through it?

Thanks. K.

IF this is for the '75 in your profile, this is how it's done. This does not apply to 78-9 w/o cruise.
The horn pad grounds the horn relay to make the horn work. All you need to do is mount the new switch where ever you want. On the wiring harness that goes to the turn signal switch, locate the blue w/ yellow trace wire and disconnect it at the "U" shaped connector on the steering column. Connect this wire to one terminal of the new switch. Ground the other terminal.
The blue/yellow trace wire you connect to the switch is the one that goes to the main, underdash harness, not the end that goes to the steering column.

If you want to replace the wiring also, locate the horn relay, it should be on the passenger side splash pan. There are three terminals. One wire is 12V hot at all times, the second is a yellow w/ green stripe, this one goes to the horn. The third is the ground wire that will go to the switch.

Thank you for the help and for taking the time to share. Kevin.
