If you currently have manual steering or ps with a bendix box, , this will push the steering wheel out about 2 inches toward you. If you have a column shift the linkage will not align up properly.
The best solution is to buy everything from a parts truck.

I'd love to find a parts truck, but I have yet to be so lucky. I've been looking all around the area, and even late 70's fords around here go for 3K.
I currently have MS, installing PS.
I've been looking at the CPP steering column for a replacement.
Ok, if I'm going to go with the Cardone PS Gearbox and the Ididit steering column, what else do I need? Will I need a pitman arm or can I use the stock one? Will I need to replace any other of the linkage out to the wheels?
Suggest shop around w/ local NAPA, or auto parts store. If not too particular Auto Zone, Advance auto, or similar discount parts store carries them, couple offer limited lifetime warranty, never could figure out what that meant. Have seen the same remanufactured ebay gear box in Advance Auto, and similar in Auto Zone but w/ the core charge suspect cost not much difference; although, primary advantage is if there's any problem just take it back. Suggest 1st check w/ NAPA, or other local part stores to compare prices, and clarification about this 'limited lifetime' warranty.
No F100/350 came w/a 390 (or 360) until 1968. Only V8 available in 1965/67 F100/350: 352 2V
Bendix P/S: 1966/68 F100/250 2WD / 1969 F100/250 2WD before serial number D96,001.
Ford/Saginaw P/S: 1969 F100/250 2WD & F350 from serial number D96,001 / 1970/79 F100/250 2WD & F350.
Cardone ad: Be aware that 'reman' is an abbreviation for remanufactured aka rebuilt gearbox.
But it really isn't, since the only parts available are the input and sector shaft seal kits.
So it...like all other so-called auto parts store reman/rebuilt gear boxes is nothing more than a resealed gearbox.
And all Ford/Saginaw P/S gear boxes have a built-in flaw. There are no sector shaft bearings, sector shaft rides directly on the housing.
So before too long, fluid begins leaking from the sector shaft seal.
redheadsteeringgears.com (Seattle WA) takes the housing, machines it to install the needle bearings that FoMoCo omitted...so they could sell a gazillion sector shaft seal kits.
Similar set of circumstances, faced w/ dilemma whether to purchase from local auto part supplier, about 1/3rd the cost, or from supplier who produced a superior replacement. I don't come cheap and I can be had; although I tend to prefer to go with quality replacement parts after factoring in the cost of the replacement box plus shipping, decided to go the cheaper route. So far appears I have been fortunate, 3 years with no problems and have not had to test the 'limited lifetime' warrant. Suggest contact the Wa. supplier and inquire, found them to be very friendly.

Thanks for the info, I'll give them a call and see what their pricing is.
What about the pitman arm and linkage, will I need to change any of that out or can I use the stock equipment with the PS gearbox?
