Hi, Im new to the forum but i recently purchased a 95 f250 with a 5.8 and e40d and Im not sure whats going on so I was going to get your guys opinion Im waiting for my buddy to get his scanner updated fyi When i first start driving it doesnt seem to want to shift into third or od then when it finally does and i come to a stop it wont shift down into first or second it stays in third and then hits the tc at 45 mph exact and rare occasions it locks in at 35 i can shift into 2nd or first but it wont shift down to first when i do this it stays in second. There are no check engine lights or is the od off switch blinking, i did notice some fluid looked like it was leaky a but from around the oil coolers lines and it was red, but i dont think low fluids would do this. so any input would be appreciated. Thanks
Here you go, you can get codes on pre '96 (OBD-1) trucks without a scanner. Just follow this guide and report what you find, don't worry that it's for Mustang.
