Hey everyone, my coolant situation is back and this time when hot it is below the minimum level. Earlier back when I changed my air filter I accidently spilled some coolant through the hose and I filled it with distilled water. well now my coolant level is below the minimum on the degas bottle even when the engine is hot (up to 204F). Everything is normal otherwise such as no puking from the cap, EOT/ECT is normal, no oily look to it, no white smoke (except when once I started up after a rain and it was VERY humid out but it quit as soon as the engine warmed up and it hasn't done that since) and no apparent leaks through my hoses. Don't know what the deal is.
Actually the coolant is SUPPOSED to be about 1/2" below the minimum line on the bottle when cold and about TO the minimum line or bit above when hot. If you're using coolant and not leaking or puking I suspect you have the beginning of a small EGR cooler (if you still have one) leak.

I actually went out right after I posted and the level was in in between minimum and maximum. Took it for a drive and got it to 197 ECT. Popped the hood and it was below the min. again. Then again it wasn't hot for that long so I couldn't really tell. I'm going on a small road trip Friday and I can check it at the end of that. I doubt it is the EGR cooler though. I would have thought id have seen white smoke by now. I'll let you know what I see.
Short drives will leave the level all over the map. One of the 6.0 mysteries. Check the level hot after a true saturation drive on the highway and then when you park it overnight that will give you the true cold level. If you start it just to more it a couple feet that can skew the level reading.

I gotcha. No wonder the level was right in the middle. Last time I drove it was Saturday and it was 60 miles round trip. All highway.
