Lift Kit Help

Alright heres my dilemma. I have a 2000 F-250 that has 4 7/8" lift blocks in the rear and a 2" lift blocks under the front springs.

The springs both front and rear are the factory spring. I do not feel comfortable driving with blocks under the front springs I've not heard good things about what could happen.

My question is could I put 4" front lift springs with the track bar drop bracket and drop pitman arm and have the truck sit level, or would I be nose high? I also have 16x12 inch wheels with 35x12.5 tires and I just don't know how much the rear springs have sagged over the years so I don't know what would be a good fit for the front to make the truck sit level. Also looking to get away from the annoying tire rub issues.

Would be spending the money just to buy a new lift kit for it be a better idea?

Thanks for all the help in advance,
Lucas

First of all blocks under front springs is dangerous period! Resolve that fast! Best bet is to get a whole new lift kit (4 inch or 6) stay under that 6. Inch mark and drive line or brake line issues will not come into play. Most kits come with everything you need shocks etc. in the long run you will be happier and actually in the end get better bang for you buck as well as safety. I have a 8 inch spring, 4 inch spring hanger and 3 inch body. I am running 44 boggers. A lot of headaches along the way to get it trust worthy!

You have good reason to not feel comfortable with blocks under the front.

Your question would be a little difficult to answer, not knowing how much the springs have sagged over the years, not knowing what the stance is now, or the stance you prefer. If I remember correctly, a 2000 F-250 had 2" blocks under the rear- sounds like someone might have moved them to the front and put taller ones in the rear.

If you are satisfied with the rear height of the truck, and the ride isn't too bad NOW, you might want to consider a 2 or 3" levelling kit for the front. They are like mini spring packs. If you aren't having a trackbar issue now, then 2" leveling springs shouldn't make a difference.

Now, if your truck is sitting fairly level right now with the current setup, then 4" lift springs is going to nose you up by 2" compared to what you have now. But, if your truck has a rake to it, then who knows- it depends on the rake. Measure from your oil pan to the ground, then put a jack under it and lift it until your oil pan is 2 inches more than your last measurement. Then take a look at the side of your truck for an approximation of what replacing the 2" blocks with 4" lift springs would do.

Remember- you already have 2" of block under the front, so a 4" lift replacing those blocks will only net you 2 more inches. A 2" levelling kit will put it right where it is now (only safer), and a 3" levelling kit will get you right between those two options.

I was mainly trying to figure out if I scrapped the 2" blocks up front and put 4" springs in the front would it sit level with about 4 7/8" in lift blocks in the back, I have been looking around and most of the 4" kits come with 3 inch blocks for the rear so I might just leave the rear alone and put 4" lift springs in the front because it's about 2.5" raked out right now with the 2 inch blocks in the front so it will be close to be level

After talking to you guys on here and chatting with a few guys at work I have decided it to be much easier to buy the lift I want and install it instead of racking my brain on configurations of lift between the rear and front because I have found it to be quite tedious trying to find what works, so buying a lift with all necessary components will be the way I go.

Thanks for all the help I appreciate it,

Lucas
