I just installed my DC power 190 amp alternator and have a question for those of toy that have it. The mounting bracket that they sent with it, has a an extra stud between the left two mounting bolts and I was wondering is that to ground the alternator to the truck?
BTW, I am considering the DC 185 Let me know how yours works out.
I've had one on for about 2 years. Batteries are happier than ever. It's nice to have good power, even at idle. Not sure what's to say, my buying experience direct sucked because of the inexperienced help they slam on the phone who can't step up and fix mistakes when they make them, but the alternator is great. The only thing I'd do different is by from a sponsor who sells them rather than direct.
FICMRepair.com for example, they are easy to deal with and they tend to have a stock of them ready to ship.
Thanks for the referral, Mr.N!
Yup, we maintain inventory of the 185's, the 190HD's, the 250HD's, and the 270XP's as these are the more popular units. Of course, the other units are available as well...

You'll get my business when the time comes (which won't be that long)
I'll be getting the 185. My volts might get up to 14.5 but starting they are 11.5 to 11.8 then stabilize around 13.7 or 8.
Would the 185 be the best for just a stock replacement? I'm not running much in the way of electronics, but have only registered 13.7 or so volts when running down the highway. My batteries are on their way out and I would like to upgrade the alt at the same time that I do the batteries.
I have the 185 in my truck, been in there for over 2 years. While towing the 5er, which charges the batteries via 7 pin, A/C maxed out, head lamps on, and other in cab stuff to my voltage is always constant between 13.9-14.7, I maintain 14.7 on the highway, and 13.9 is the lowest Ive seen with all accessories on idling in traffic.
This is of course after the GP circuit has cycled, even then I don't drop below 12.9.

PS Ed do you guys stock anything for a Chevy...sorry I said it. I have a 97 Yukon I use as my DD and plow with and would like to put on a better alt. when plowing. I called DC direct a few times and they never got back to me.
