My dad has a 99 F550 with a 7.3 and the flashers won't work. The turn signals work just fine(normal speed) but the flashers don't do anything. I changed the flasher relay and that didn't do anything. I found the fuse for it in the passenger compartment fuse box (fuse #1) and it was fine. What stumped me is that the fuse only gets 0.49V according to my multimeter, maybe a bad connection but I got the same result 5 times, on the "2V" scale. When I put the fuse back in the relay goes through one cycle and then stops, so instead of going click-Click-click-Click-etc it goes click-Click-nothing. Any ideas what this may be? I'm not exactly good with the electronics on newer vehicles so I'm stumped. Thanks for any help.
Please help? I really need to fix this we farm and the flashers get used a lot. They didn't work when we bought the truck so I don't know when or how they went out.
i would pull the relay and check the connections if there clean i would run a meeter through and make sure that it is engaging

t's down low...behind/below the radio in the center of the dash.
Reach up towards the radio from the gas pedal area. The easiest way to find it is to turn on the blinkers and feel for the relay that's clicking.

I did, I pulled it and the connections were clean so I replaced it and that didn't do anything. What should the meter say on the different connections for the relay with the flasher on? I wondered about checking it but not knowing which circuit is which I figured it wouldn't help much. I kind of wondered if it could be the switch in the steering column?
