My friend's truck (1989 B2) died today. Had no spark when we tested. 30amp maxi fuse blown in relay box. Put in new fuse. Still would not start. Fuse pops every time. What would cause this? Did a search on EEC fuse but did not come up with anything.
FWIW: On a stock vehicle there are not "maxi" fuses. Maxi fuses are the big 1" ones. There is no relay box, though they might be under a shield on the right hand side under the hood. The fuse box is under the dash on the driver's side.
Take the EEC relay with you when replacing it to make sure the "color" and pin out is the same as the one you are buying.
As 87 XLT mentioned, check the "relay splices" aka fusible links coming off the starter relay.

The fuse that is blowing it is a 1" maxi fuse. It is stock. If you've never seen these on any stock vehicle....well I'm not sure what to say. But thanks for the reply.
87 XLT: Haven't removed relay, but I will try that. Thanks for the help
