Hey everyone im fairly new to this forum and I just picked up a 96 f250 4x4 7.3 powerstroke and im loving it! needs alil work but nothing huge! so far ive put new ball joints, replaced all the front wheel bearings and tie rods, next on the list is front leaf springs and axle pivot bushing. Looking forward to making this truck everything I want its my dream truck and from what ive seen you guys seem very knowledgable so ill b asking many questions probably!
Befor you put too much money in the front end, you might think about swaping in a dana 60 from a f350. With the solid axle in there, a lift kit is avalable that uses super duty springs and makes for a nice ride. Is it too early to talk about mods? Haha. Lets see here, intake, exhaust, gauges, chip......
I plan on doing intake and a tuner but right now my main list items other than finishing the front end obviously is a trailer brake controller, new left front blinker housing, rear diff fluid, t case fluid, fuel filter, coolant and tranny flush, glow plugs (just so I know they are good) and that's all I can think of right now
Welcome to FTE Tyler! Looks like you found yourself a nice Crew Cab Short Bed. Those are kinda hard to come by, and they make for one really sharp looking truck. Stick around here and these guys will have you saving pennies and selling plasma for go fast goodies in no time at all!
Welcome to the forum! Good looking truck. We seem to be awash with students on here! What part of the country are you in? And make sure you check out the RRE 2014 thread on here. We are going to have a bunch of OBS trucks at the event this year (July 17-19 in TN), so plan to head there if you can make it. Then you get to meet a bunch of the folks on here in person too and it is an awesome event.
Welcome Tyler! Nice looking truck you have there, I have the same CCSB, I like their look, and I like that there aren't as many as the long boxes. I just re did my front end as well, I'm hoping my pivot bushings aren't bad, it's at the shop now for an alignment, so I'll find out soon enough!
Anyways, welcome! You will learn much here, awesome bunch of guys here.
And one other thing, if you want to upload pics, the best way is to upload them to a photo site like flikr, or photobucket, and copy and paste the links here. Once again, Welcome!
