If you want it done right do it yourself... it leaks oil according to them from an o ring from a tube that connects the filter to the block, unless its running toward the front of the truck as well as falling there too i call bull. And if i sit there idling for a minute it starts to drip fuel off the bottom of the engine
I was just looking at your older posts. To me it sounds more like a broken leaf or worn ball joints and tie rods. I've never had a 250 but have had a obs 150 with the same idea and I'm just trying to picture it. A lot going on in there. I would have to say back it into a stall and get underneath to try find what's not lining up. Which bushings did you replace. I would think if there is that much change forward to reverse you should be able to find it on a hoist with a long pry bar. Btw nice truck.
axle pivot bushings, ive replaces tie rods and ball joints the leafs aren't broken but the right one seems to sag more than the right, now that I replaced the bushings it doesn't matter forward or back ward, my last2 thoughts are bent fame, bad leaf spring, im gunna bring it in to get it measured tomorrow and hopefully its straight and its just a leaf spring
Wrap a string around the ends of the bolts in the ends of the springs (if that makes sense). Do that on both sides and take measurements to different points on the suspension and axle to determine whether there is more arch in one side or another.
Nice truck! The only way you can have different measurements from bolt to bolt is if the spring hanger holes are egged out. Are you sure on that measurement?
FWIW, dana 50's and lift kits aren't a very good combination.
Lift kits are much better on a solid axle. It's really hard to get a front end alignment right and have even tire wear on a truck without a straight axle and a lift kit. It can be done, but its not real easy or ideal. Heck, these 50's can be hard on tires without a lift unless its in real good shape. I've still got a 50 under mine. It is in pretty good shape though, most has been rebuilt.
well my front end has new ball joints tie rods wheel bearings and shocks all that's left is u joints (which will happen when I convert the auto lockers to manuals) and leaf springs
Well heres an update, I ordered a new leaf pack (gotta get one at a time cuz that's all I can afford a paycheck lol) ordered the fuel bowl reseal kit and Viton drain o rings from riff raff, fixed the horn (wires were unplugged) and put a new left blinker/running light housing in and had to splice the old wires into the socket, thanks po... but its coming along one step at a time!
Well replaced the belt and ended up having to replace the air injection pump and pulley... ford screwed me on that price. But what is that componant even for??
