heater control valve

Im thinking about installing a Coolant filter, and I was looking at the heater hoses on my truck, and I cant seem to locate the valve for the temp control on the hose coming from the front of the engine. Looks like the other hose makes a hard turn back towards the firewall goes across behind the turbo and into the hoses under the degas container. any ideas 04 F250
Thanks

I think the Ex, and Crew Cabs have them but not the standard cab, not sure on the extended cab.

Her is a good picture of how NOT to install the T fitting if you have the valve. It's the round black solenoid looking thing with the grey vacume line attached to it.

yeah I don't see that valve, the truck is an extended cab. Im located in Ontario Canada wonder if that has something to do with it. How are they controlling the temp, wonder where the **** on the dash goes to. Do you think its possible to remove the Metal tube that goes into the engine that the heater hose is connected to? Id like to add my fitting right on the tube.

I'm sure the tube will come out but I'm not sure it's worth the effort. At a max of 16psi it would be fine attached to the rubber part of the hose.

A little info on how it works:

Thnx dchamberlain.
The valve is normally open with no vacuum applied. When the heater control is turned to OFF, or MAX A/C, vacuum should be applied and the valve should close.

It actually T's into the air intake door control line. The air intake door is normally open, allowing air to come in from the outside. When the control is in the OFF or MAX A/C positions, vacuum is applied to air intake door control motor, closing it. This prevents air from coming in from the outside. This causes recirculated air with the fan on in MAX A/C, and no air (because there is no fan running) in the OFF position.
